The mission of the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce is to invigorate the economic health of the areas we serve, while contributing to the well-being of the Upper Valley.

Benefits

Chamber Referrals – The Chamber office receives about 1000 calls a month from visitors, community members and information seekers. With your membership, our staff is able to refer your businesses and/or services to inquiring callers.

Chamber Office – Visitors and area residents alike come to our office looking for creative ways to spend their time in the Upper Valley. Showcase your business by housing your brochure/flyer at the Chamber office for distribution.

HACC Website – Your membership includes a listing and link to your business as well as the opportunity to create and maintain your own “Member Profile Page” to promote yourself with pictures, testimonials, press releases, calendar events, downloadable coupons and special promotions and more.

Job Listings – Post employment opportunities for free on the Jobs Page of the HACC website through your member profile. In its first six months since its creation on May 1, 2015, the Jobs Page had over 3,800 unique visitors.

HACC Resource Directory – You get a free listing in the HACC Resource Directory. 7,000 copies of the directory are distributed through HACC events, in every visitor and relocation packet and on the counter of many member businesses. The Directory is a staple in numerous recruiting and welcome packets created by many departments at Dartmouth, DHMC and offices and organizations throughout the Upper Valley.

Dartmouth Website – HACC is the exclusive directory for the Dartmouth’s Website parents and family page. College visitors will find your business through a direct link to the HACC web directory.

Social Media – All complimentary benefits of membership, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest sites hosted by the HACC provide unique, interesting, and interactive methods for engaging new (and existing) customers. Share events, sales, promotions (photos are great!) for us to post, tweet and pin. 

Business After Hours – This popular monthly event is hosted by a Member business as a way to gain exposure while providing business-to-business networking opportunities in a social atmosphere for you and other Chamber members.

GPS Listing for members - The Chamber’s partnership with TomTom will give member location information to GPS users on TomTom systems as well as other systems.

Member NotesMembers can submit their news for publication, based on space, in the Chamber newsletter.

Press releases – Promote your news by posting your press releases on the Chamber website, using your member login.

Lodging Availability – Post your lodging availability and rates on the Chamber website, using your member login.

Take this Opportunity – HACC sends out monthly E-Blasts to keep you informed of upcoming opportunities and events that benefit your business.

Newsletter – Members receive a bi-monthly newsletter, which provides information about chamber events, programs, and happenings. New members are introduced to the business community and all members are invited to share their expertise by proposing an article.

dvocacy – As a Chamber member, you have a strong voice on local and state issues through the Chamber’s lobbying efforts. From parking and transportation to affordable healthcare and housing, the Chamber is working on issues that affect you, your employees and your business.

COGGNO – Employee training, simplified. A new online, on-demand, low-cost, 24/7 internet training resource for thousands of online training classes in software, HR, workplace safety, and more.

HACC Website Advertising – HACC’s website offers many opportunities to highlight your business through web advertising. See details in the Web Advertising Brochure.

Wedding Page Listings/Advertising – The Wedding Page on the HACC website is a great resource for couples getting married in the Upper Valley area. Highlight your business with a listing or advertisement on the Wedding Page.

Mailing List/Label – Whether it’s a special invitation, special announcement or information about your special business, the HACC member list will put your materials in the hands of the people you are trying to reach.

Newsletter Insert Program – Target the segment of the community most involved in business, namely, fellow Chamber members. HACC publishes 6 newsletters a year that are mailed or emailed directly to the businesses with which you want to become more visible. Your membership allows you the opportunity to reserve a spot for your promotional flyer. This is a popular program and space is limited.

 Relocation Subscription – More and more people are realizing what a vibrant area we have and are choosing the Upper Valley as their home. A subscription to the Relocation Subscription Program puts those families who have received relocation information from the Chamber into your database. Be the first business to welcome them to our area. 

Visitor/Relocation Packets – HACC sends out visitor/relocation packets on a weekly basis. Your membership provides the opportunity for your business to be among the first that visitors and potential new residents will see. Insert your brochure or flyer in the HACC Visitor/Relocation.

Sponsorship Opportunities – As a way of gaining exposure within the business community, Chamber members have many sponsorship opportunities. Events and programs such the Leadership Awards, the HACC Annual Meeting and Celebration, the Hanover Area Farmers Market, The Annual Golf Tournament and more, offer opportunities to put your business in front of your target audience.

Programs

D’Perks – The Dartmouth College/Dartmouth-Hitchcock employee discount program is managed by the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce. Market your business to more than 11,000 employees on a monthly basis by offering them a special promotion. For more information, see the “D’Perks” flyer.

Farmers Market – Every Wednesday from June through mid-October, HACC hosts the Farmers Market on the Hanover/Dartmouth Green. Residents, area visitors, staff from area businesses and Dartmouth College as well as alumni and students, frequent the Farmers Market.  Partner with a market vendor; create an incentive to bring market goers into your place of business, whatever you choose, let the shopper know you’d like them to shop with you. 

Meet-Up Upper Valley (MUUV) MUUV allows you to network your employees and your business/organization into our community. The MUUV program offers two to three events per month that focus on providing participants with an opportunity to connect with the people and places of the Upper Valley. Becoming a MUUV partner allows you to offer your employees the opportunity to attend MUUV events. You can also choose to host a MUUV event which give you the chance to bring MUUV participants into your business. Learn more by visiting www.meetupuppervalley.org

Oil Discounts – Chamber members are eligible for discounted oil and propane offers from area providers.

March

 Hypertherm Employee Fair – HACC has an exclusive invitation to talk with Hypertherm staff about the businesses and programs we support with a table full of materials.

April

First Year Family Weekend – Dartmouth College invites the families of first year students to campus for a weekend of activities. HACC has an exclusive invitation to promote members. You are encouraged to get your information in front of these families by offering a special Dartmouth College promotion to entice them to visit your business or try your service.

June

Farmers Market – June to mid October - Farmers market open Wednesdays, 3pm to 6pm, on the Green in downtown Hanover, where collaboration sustains our community.

July

Sophomore Family Weekend Dartmouth College invites the families of sophomore students to campus for a weekend of activities. HACC has an exclusive invitation to promote members. You are encouraged to get your information in front of these families by offering a special Dartmouth College promotion to entice them to visit your business or try your service.

Sidewalk Sale -  This annual Sidewalk sales provides downtown Hanover merchants with the opportunity to move their stores onto the sidewalks and present their wares in a traditional, old-fashioned sales venue! As always, Main Street will be closed off to everything but foot traffic as the shoppers grab hot summer deals!

Dartmouth Student Move-In Day – HACC has an exclusive invitation to welcome students to campus with a table full of member coupons, discounts and promotions during the Dartmouth Student Move-In Day. You are encouraged to get your information in front of these families.

Golf Tournament – Pure Fun! With its unique format, the Chamber Golf Tournament has become the perfect event for businesses to round out their summer. Held in September, the HACC Golf Tournament offers an opportunity for business leaders to network in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Dartmouth Employee Fair – HACC has an exclusive invitation to talk with Dartmouth staff about the businesses and programs we support with a table full of member coupons, discounts and promotions during the Dartmouth Employee Fair.

November

Leadership Awards - This annual reception, dinner, and awards ceremony is a celebration to honor individuals and businesses for outstanding achievement, leadership and innovation.

December

Celebrate the Season - This first Friday evening in December, Hanover comes alive with sounds of the season. Downtown businesses welcome patrons with refreshments and special holiday deals. Musical groups entertain visitors while a horse drawn wagon carries families around town and "elves" parade the sidewalks singing and handing out candy canes. Of course, the night would not be complete without a visit from Santa. You are invited to join us and enjoy the spirit of the holiday.

Soup Tasting with a Purpose - The first Saturday in December, come to downtown Hanover and sample soups throughout downtown all proceeds go to area non-profits. Tickets and maps are available for sale in advance via the website or you can purchase your tickets and map the day of the event. Check Facebook and the website for details.

Restaurant Week – Following Soup Tasting with a Purpose participating restaurants in Hanover, Norwich and Quechee and dine at local restaurants at ‘try-us’ prices! Restaurants with traditional menus will offer specially created prix fixe menus at great prices, while other restaurants will offer discounts on specialty items. This is your chance to try places at reasonable prices before, during or after being out and about. You are likely to find a new favorite place, while supporting great locally owned and operated restaurants of varying cuisines and prices.

New Year’s Eve – Stay and Play – Something NEW and FUN for New Year’s Eve? Hanover Play & Stay is the perfect way to celebrate in a walk about town with a festive atmosphere. Take advantage of special offers from area restaurants, pubs and merchants. Then stay the night, and enjoy great holiday rates at downtown hotels.
